The notice was because I said I thought the McCann's were guilty.
Would I got one if I said Innocent?

is it the end of my world? was a joke.I'm really not upset about the violation notice. Just confused about free speech. How does me thinking the McCann's are guilty attack anyone in here? I don't care if people think that there innocent. I would never report anyone. Remember Nazi Germany?

Yahoo doesn't check to see if you are, in fact, in violation. I received a violation notice and wrote to yahoo (sending them a copy of what they violated me on) asking them to explain why it was in violation. They sent me a generic letter.

If someone doesn't agree with you or you don't agree with them, they can report you, right, wrong or indifferent and Yahoo won't do a thing about it except violate you.

Ive gotten several of those for saying the McCanns are guilty. Apparently the SoccerMoms running Yahoos Violation board are McCann McFanns.

Oooh scary since I just answered a question where I answered that I thought they are guilty also.....ok,not scary but ridiculous anyway! Answering a question with your opinion,as long as its in a respectful way,is NOT terms for a violation. I'd fight it if I were you and I will fight it if I get a violation notice for mine. Its insane to report someone just because you don't agree with the answer..thats what the thumbs down is for,GAW-sometimes I feel surrounded by close-minded morons on here.....good luck!! =D

I got one, too, and it really burned me, especially since I asked for an investigation so it could be reconsidered. I'm not holding my breath.

Now that the community can "police" the content of posts, there is suddenly a new way to express your disapproval besides giving a "thumbs down." Now you can "report" them, as well.

This will only lead to the discovery by a lot of people that there is a new way to express their adolescence and immaturity.

What they NEED to do is to have everyone's nationality by their names-that way we'll know when we're dealing with a bad tempered Englishman, an impertinent Aussie or an invisible Canadian. My violation came as a result of a culture clash. I felt violated and now I want to be compensated, big time! ;-)

How sad when someone gets violated for a different opinion. Not the end of your world u will survive this. Just don't let these censorship fools stop u from saying what u feel.

Perhaps it was a poster on here not a Y! PERSON ?? Depends but some have itchy fingers. In my opinion, it is a fine line. I got one when I posted a birthday wishes to me question in fun. Pretty easy to guess who got miffed. You can not please everyone. Write them back when u get the notice. Otherwise it is just random computer generated stuff. Good luck, I believe you may be innocent. OJ was... just kiddin! Can not wait to hear how he did it this time ! Have a nice day.

am i able to respond to a query with a query? My little ones each and every from time to time did.according to danger people who think of there is something offensive correct to the word "chick flicks" merely had their feathers ruffled and are slightly chicken brained,i'm a grandma and that i understand there's a distinction between a chick flick and an X rated action picture.

I have just had a violation overturned by the appeal system, it was a moral triumph, the question was hypothetical, so I gave a hypothetical answer that someone did not like. there are some very touchy people about.

Probably, getting a violation notice once in awhile, is even healthy. Means you're thinking with your own head.
