talk to your teachers. see if you can get after school help or find a friend that will help you. make sure you do all your work and turn it in on time. do your homework and hand it in on time.

You need to set-up some time with your teacher or teachers after school. If necessary have your parents come as well. Find out what you need to do to bring your grades up. You may need a tutor after school. It will look good to your teachers and parents if you take the first step here before it becomes more of an issue. It will show you care and want to make a change. Good luck.

Take your mom or your dad into your confidence. If you really do want to do well in school you'll need their help to work with the school to come up with a program or series of classes in which you will find your self esteem and begin to have faith that you CAN be a good student. You CAN if you want to.

I'll give you my daughter's story on how lack of confidence in one subject can affect all others and snowball into straight F's.

Since grammar school she felt she couldn't do math. She tried very hard, did everything that was asked but couldn't get it. The class just went too fast and she could never catch up. She kept trying but with all that effort and self doubt, her english and social studies work became harder to study for and complete. She just got overwhelmed.

I worked with the school to get her into classes with more support and different ways of teaching the subject. In these classes she felt less pressure and when she gave her best it was recognized and praised. She didn't take written tests well and so that was modified so that her teacher asked her the questions verbally. It wasn't long before she got her groove and knew she COULD learn anything that she began testing and doing everything better. She's worked herself up into a regular 'mainstream program' in high school now and although math isn't her favorite, she's not afraid of it or to ask for help when she can't move on to the next idea. She now gets A's & B's and acts like she feels pretty good about herself.

Don't be afraid to holler - I'm Overwhelmed!!
There are different 'Tracks' in every school to help kids who might need to take things a little slower for a while or who feel more confident when they have an extra teacher or peer there to answer a question before moving on to the next assignment.

You have received some excellent advice from all that have written an answer so far.

Why are you getting all F's? Is the work too difficult. Do you know the proper ways to take tests/?Do you do all of your homework? Do you ask questions in class about things that you may not understand?

Try to be specific about the reasons for your difficulties. In that way the help will be more geared to you.
