Is there a name for the logo stamp found on the bottom of fine china?

I have an old japanese teapot and am trying to identify who made it. The only marking on it is a stamp on the bottom. Is there a name for those stamps on dishes or are they just calle d"dish stamps" or something generic like that?

On Japanese work the round or square mark is the artist's signiture.
