Thinking of a holiday in Zante next May. Is there a mosquito problem at that time of the year on the Island? Any hotels recommended? Tripadvisor.co.uk recommends the Louis Zante, any comments? Ta.

I don't care if you're going to a swamp, there are no mosquitos in Greece in May.

I have been to Zante, but in Sept. I had a few bites. However in May I went to Corfu, and got alot of bites.
My advice is buy the local anti mozzie spray, not something from the UK.
I just spent £12 on strong stuff from Superdrug, and it was useless in Turkey ( been back 4 days) the taxi driver reccomended one he uses, it cos about £1 and was excellent.
As for hotels, no, I stayed in one called Marilen, in Kalimaki. It was ok but I wouldnt rave about it. Good luck.

I went in July, it's great, we stayed at argassi which was close to the city, but if you want to go somewhere not so busy, alikes and alikana are also very nice to stay. if you want to stay at a busy spot (with lots of nightlife) stay at tsilivi, lagana, kalamaki.
