She did ask her doctor, but she was unfortunately no help.

I have the same problem; my fall allergies are terrible! I asked my doc and she told me I could take a Clariton every couple days.

At the pharmacy, the pharmacist told me NOT Clariton D though. But she also said that Bendryl is approved for pregnant women. Still ask the doc though, every woman and pregnancy is different.

A doctor that is no help for something as simple should really be replaced! But that's just my opinion.

At about the same time my allergies acted up too, but in a very disgusting way....phlegm. My doctor said it was ok to take a Benadryl.

You might still want to get a 2nd professional opinion. Call an NP or another dr's office, even a local clinic. You want to be as safe as possible since she's technically still in her 1st trimester.

My OB allows the following for cold/allergy symptoms:
Actifed Cold & Sinus
Actifed Cold & Allergy
Tavist Sinus/Allergy
Tavist Allergy/Sinus/Headache
Banadryl 25 - 5- mg by mouth every 4-6 hours (MAX 300 mg per day)
Sudafed 60mg every 4-6 hours (MAX 240 mg per day)
Claritin 10mg

As others have stated, her doctor should be able to advise her on this. She might want to consider a different office now since she is still in the early stages of her pregnancy.

Hope she's feeling better soon!

Hmm, i always took benadryl it was safe but it knocked me out for about 4 hours. You could even ask a pharmasist too just at your local walgreens or osco. You could also try nasonex or just plain saleen soloution. hope it helps

She needs to call her ob/gyn but I doubt that he will prescribe any meds for allergies, keeping the baby in mind.

Get a good air purifier. Have it on the nightstand near her bed so she can get a good night's sleep.
