The same reason anyone else does. Because they want to.
Reasons behind that may include peer pressure, escapism, or upbringing, or, as is often the case, addiction (the ever-present excuse, "I can stop if I want to, I just don't want to". Yeah right.)

Husbands drink and wives do too...it's not a matter of being a husband or a wife or anything, it's a matter of being a person who likes to drink and possibly might be an alcoholic. My boyfriend doesn't drink. I've only seen him drink two times in the time we have been together and he doesn't even get tipsy, he won't even finish his drink EVER. He won't have one full drink, which is great :)

Not all husbands drink, it is an addiction and can be the undoing of a great person if given it's way.
I know people who drink a bit and it never causes any problems in their lives however there are others who's lives are destroyed by it.
seek help for yourself through the AA program. There is a group that supports those who live with that life.

probably the same reason why the wives drink....to make each other look a bit more gorgeous lol.
kidding. i don't know. my husband drinks when he watches sports. i don't mind it at all...him not drinking while watching sports is like me not shopping while he's watching sports =/
it's just part of mother nature lol.

I've learned that even when I win the 'argument,' she actually does. At least that's what she tells me..

Sometimes, it might be that he is trying to make his wife look better in overall appearances than she actually does!(when make-up has failed, miserably)
