I tried to defragment it will not let me because you have to have at least 15% space to defragment. When I analze defragment on the right side there is a solid block of red what does this mean? Have a messed up my computer beyond repair.Whenever I try to go to my D drive files I get a PC Angel thing that tells the files can not be altered, I am at a lose.

You copied the files from your hard drive to your hard drive. If you deleted the back up file, try emptying the wastebasket.

Other than that, you have to figure out where the extra copies are so you can delete them.

You had the right idea, but you need to back up the files somewhere else: CD, DVD, or external drive.

Live and learn, you can not backup onto itself. There is still a cache directory with all the data from trying to backup. If you do not know what the directory and file structure look like, find a tech friend that knows what they are looking at to find the files or folder that belonged to the backup and blow it away.

SpinRite. I have never needed to use it yet, but it looks awesome! Check out his site, I am not sure if it has a free version available, but it can not be too expensive, and it will help you out for sure.
