Yes, I always do all my gardening barefoot. I've never had even the slightest foot injury; I do get minor scrapes and splinters in my hands quite regularly but I don't wear gloves either, don't like the feel of them. But if I'd have to go by the number of (small) injuries and wear either shoes or gloves, it'd have to be the gloves, by a very large margin!
Btw, I never use power tools, I didn't when I still wore shoes either. I use a push/reel type mower that can't be pulled over the feet while it's turning, no weed whackers and such.

No Way. My feet are so tender and sensitive that if I step on anything that's not soft I sink to the ground. It's dangerous enough just walking through my house with all the kids toys laying around.
I almost broke my pinky toe the other day. Not to mention all the potentially painful bugs all over my yard. Not a chance.

Work barefoot most of the time as I seem to have a firmer grip on mother Africa that way. However, for the heavier jobs such as rockery work, spading, mowing etc I wear an old pair of steel capped army boots. My mom says I look like " Little Abner" (some comic strip from the long distant past).

At times I walk around the yard barefooted drinking a cold adult beverage, mentally making notes of what I have to do. As far as doing yard work barefooted, no, that wouldn't be very safe.

Other than mowing the yard, I would. But I have two dogs. Sometimes I work in the front yard barefoot (dogs are only in the back).

Yes except for spade work and some power equipment. I have feet like shoe leather, it seems to heighten the whole experience. RScott

No. Have you ever tried to rake, dig, and clip in bare feet? I accidentally kicked a shovel this summer and laid open a 3 inch gash across my foot and the ball of one toe.
I always start out wearing garden gloves and end up taking them off, but I always leave my shoes on!
