I got the Pats minus 4. Will this discourage or inspire the Pats? What will be the effect on the Bolts? I think that these guys are professionals and, once the game starts, it becomes a regular ol' game.

If the Pats' o-line gives Brady time, NE wins by 10 or 14. If not, then it's a 2-3 point game and I dunno who wins. I don't think that the Bolts score more than 17 against NE.

I think the Pats will win...again...and it won't be close...A blowout statement game due to the events of this week...They'll be pissed about the penalties and the stupid allegations about past games...Oh...and LTs little rant about them after he LOST to the Pats in the AFC playoff game last year...

In his ruling NFL Commissioner Goddell said that the spying had no impact on the outcome of the Pats/Jets game, so it's hard to see that it would have much impact on this week's game. Belichick isn't going to let this distract him. Though the Chargers may use it as a motivating device, my guess is that this is old news to them and they don't need any more motivation than having been bounced from the playoffs by the Pats last season.

Personally I don't see the Pats winning by 10-14 in any circumstance. The Chargers are a very good football team and will not be thumped, after all they did well against a solid Bears defense in Week 1. Pats by four is a well-set line, but I'd probably take the Pats simply because they are playing at home this week and don't have to deal with the cross-country trip.

I like drew blood's answer. I havta agree that the Chargers and Pats game is going to be very physical. If the chemistry between Brady and Moss continues, they could possibly make a fool out of the chargers secondary. However, if the d-line does a bad job, they are gonna have LT footprints all over them. Its a tough call, but since the pats are playing at home( and I spent a lotta $$$ on tickets to the game), I think its gonna be 21-17 pats.

I think if Marty was still the coach, the spying might have a direct impact on this game because I am sure the Pats knew they would be playing the Chargers this year and video tapped calls during last years playoff game. But since they have a new coach and hopefully new signals, it will only affect the menatility of the players, they have been answering questions about this all week. I think the Bolts take this one, 35-10.

The Pats will win.Nothing against the Chargers, there a very good team....but the Patriots have a much better team this year. Brady is going to tear up the Chargers Defense. He only used Welker and Moss most of the game against the jets....and he was picking them apart. Throw in Stallworth, Washington, Gaffney, and Graham. Hes going to give them a lot of problems.

AND HERE COME THE PATRIOT BANDWAGONEERS!

Well for starters, I am a SAN DIEGO fan. But I'm not blind and I'm not stupid. So I'm not going to beat my chest and insist that we're going to roll all over the Patriots. But consider this: San Diego is STILL pisssed over the way we blew the AFC playoff game after kicking Patriot asss for over three and a half quarters before imploding at the end. We don't need to run down the roster of both teams, as both teams are perhaps the most talented in the NFL. But San Diego has prooven in the past it can come back to win games after being down 3 touchdowns (SD -vs- Cinn) and it has prooven that it can stand toe to toe with a physical defense (SD -vs- Chi). Beating the #13 ranked Jets team is one thing, beating the #1 ranked Charger team is another! I predict a win for San Diego that will leave fans thirsty for more in the AFC Championship game!

FYI: Ladainian Tomlinsons rant last year? He called the Patriots classless. Given this weeks developments, it turns out he was right!

I think this is a bit of both a distraction and motivation for the pats. If it proves to be more of a motivation, this game is gonna be won convincingly by the Patriots. If it is more of a distraction, then the opposite may happen.

A tempest in a teapot!

Come on, the name of the game is to win!
And, to a coach that means, "no matter what" Which translates into " until we get caught."
While I am a die-hard Eagles fan, ,y reaction to the the "This might have cost us a super bowl win!" is, 'please do go on with your sad story."
Should the CIA notw investigate any fan who goes to a pre season scrimmage with a video cam?
