Not a myth. Cannot be put that way. It seems turning out the opposite is because didn't agree with how were raised, what was going on in home life. Take the best, learn by mistakes. I am similiar to my mom, my daughter similiar to me. She took the best parts, threw out the bad and learned from my mistakes, just as when she is ready, if she is lucky enough to have a daughter of her own some day- that child will more than likely be similiar in many aspects. Just as I had learned from my mother and she from hers and so on and so on and so on.

Its a myth. Some of us grow up trying to do all in our power to not be like our Mothers. For example, my mother had me at 16 and married my father at 17. Me, I went a totally different way. I was married at 20 and I am childless and plan to remain so for another few years. Our mothers can be a source of inspiration or of what not to do. It is ultimately up to us what we turn out to be.

Its definitely a myth....THANK GOD I DIDN'T TURN OUT LIKE MY MOTHER!.....I made a conscience decision that I wanted to be nothing like her...and she and I have nothing in common...I don't even talk to her unless she calls me.
