I am almost 32weeks pregnant and just had my regular check up!the doctor told me to make an ultrasoundappointment, cause its seems the baby is a little small for my week.he said it might be because I am tall (5.7) and so maybe its just seems smaler, cause is has more room!
I am still a little worried, was would I expect if the baby is just smaler, could there be complication for my last weeks?

Those ultrasounds can be off a pound or two. As long as the baby has consistently grown throughout your pregnancy and it's cranial measurement, torso, and long bone measurements are in proportion I'm sure it is fine.

A baby isn't even considered to be underweight at birth unless it weighs less than 5 lb 8 oz. Even in that case most babies are perfectly healthy.

The doctors said the same thing to me when i was at that stage. I am not tall only 5 feet and three inches but my torso is long which seemed to give the baby more room and my stomach didnt stick out as far as others. Of course i worried about this because a medication I was given to stop preterm labor at 6 months could cause growth restriction in my baby. Everyone said i would have a small baby even the doctor and she weighed 8 pounds even and she almost had to be taken by c section after being stuck because she was so big for me since I was so small

All I am saying is that it could really be nothing at all. Continue to take care of yourself and eat nutritious foods and get plenty of rest. Being stressed out is not good for the baby. I know that you still will because how can you not

Good luck and enjoy your little one

its no worry if the baby is a little small right now, he still has 6-8 weeks to grow and fatten up. If you are still smll at the next appt the dr may want to do an ultrasound to check for IUGR, intra uterine growth restriction. Its a rare condition, but its usualy not too big a problem. Chances are he's right, you are tall and the baby has more room to spread out. Don't let it worry you much. Good luck!!

Don't worry until you have the ultrasound - it may be just as he says (you are measuring smaller because of a long torso) or you might be a little off on the due dates, or perhaps you just have a small baby.
There is a huge difference between a little small and problem small.....get the utlrasound and see what it says, then worry if there is a need to worry.

Maybe your due date is wrong? Until you have the ultrasound try not to worry too much, sometimes the Dr. is wrong about the size. That has happened to me. Even if the baby is small it shouldn't really be a problem. Think about it, there are babies born prematurely that weigh little more than a pound. I really wouldn't worry about it. Good luck

Don't be too worried about it. All babies grow differently. And besides, most weight is gained in the last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy anyways. Eat cake!
On the bright side, you won't have to carry an 11 pound 11 ouncer like my cousin has to!
Good luck and have fun!

You know, babies come in all sizes. It just may be that you're going to have a little baby. The average size is 7 lbs. A little under or over isn't uncommon. I had 3 ultra sounds durring one of my pregnancies because my babys head was too big and there was nothing wrong with her. She just had a big head, lol.

Please don't put yourself through the worrying. Wait for the ultra sound. Plenty of babies are born around 5 pounds and are healthy. My situation is different. Mine might be too big because I just found out I have gestational diabetes. Don't think you can pig out and make the baby gain weight. Take your vitamins and eat very healthy and I will pray for yall. Jennifer

I wouldn't worry about it. When I went for my last check-up before I had my son, they told me he was about 6.5 lbs. I had him a couple of days later and he was 9lbs. 1oz. I'm 5'9", so maybe height does have something to do with the baby seeming smaller, but don't worry...your baby will be fine.
