I've got a cricket in the house that I can't seem to find. What have you used to get rid of them that works and is not harmful to children or pets?

The glue traps for roaches work on crickets as well.

okay, first light candles, one at each corner of your living room. now turn out all other lights and sit naked on the floor in the middle of the room. cross your legs and hold your right hand above your head. with your left hand, wave a small US flag and hum the tune from "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" in a monotone. keep your eyes closed and focus on the mental picture of the crickets hopping into Yankee Stadium. continue this for 44 minutes exactly. your right hand will be numb and you will no longer care where the @#%& crickets are. hope nobody takes your picture.... goodnight! Crickets aren't harmful--they do make a bit of noise, to be sure
but they are benign. They like to feed on certain things and if they don't find them in your home, they will move on.

In the Orient, it is considered a good omen to have a cricket in your home--and to that end, some are kept in cages to ensure good luck--and have been for centuries.

I wish you good luck
