Lie as little as possible, that is, make it as close to the truth as you can. Don't make up huge, elaborate lies. The closer to the truth, the less evidence there is that you're lying.
There's also what Jerry Seinfeld's friend George Costanza said: It's not a lie if you believe it.
It's better, of course, not to lie. You never know when the lies will bite you in the backside and you'll be worse off.
As they say, always tell the truth; there's less to remember.

Practice makes perfect. But, beware. When you practice the fine art of lying enough times, you begin to believe even your own lies. When the line between truth and deceit becomes blurred, it is then that you are exposed as a liar, you get a reputation as being a liar, and this is a very good way to find yourself either in the company of other liars like a pack of hyenas,or all alone.

eye contact. You gotta be able to look someone in the eyes and not look away, I mean, don't stare at the person, but look at them the saem way you would if you were having a truthful conversation with them..and don't fidget. And always be able to remember what you said so if it gets brought up later you'll remember it. .....had my parents fooled for years in high school, hahaha.

stay away from lie detector tests. also depends on the lie. if it a bad lie (ie. failing a test and changing Fs and Fs to As ) that's not being a liar; that's being dishonest.
