Last night I noticed this weird sound coming from behind the wall in the bathroom.(we have 2 bathrooms, and they are both on the same wall). It seems to be closer to the showers than the toilets or sinks. It is this weird clink-clinkety clink-clink-clink sound, and it's not consistent like dripping water or something. I have a feeling it's something to do with the plumbing...any idea what this could be before I call the plumber? It almost sounds like a little critter or something was living in the pipes, but I know that's not the case. Any ideas???

It could just be the pipes expanding and contracting with changing water temperature.

May be a mouse, especially if it at night you only hear it. It could be something with the plumbing, but, I would think you hear it all the time.
First answer has a good idea too. I have heard sounds when the hot water heater cool down, come on and heat back up. It not stay hot all the time. It have a thermostat like the house AC/Heat and come on and off. If, it this, first answer is best answer.

I have seen several times where a squirrel would be in the vent in the wall. A squirrel will drop a nut down a vent and then later go for it and there he is. I have pulled several squirrels from sewer lines where they got down a vent and could not get back out and died. The sewer stopped up and then pulled out a squirrel. It sounds like a scratching or noise in the wall. Not a guarantee but a very good possibility. Best of luck.
