It varies for every wife-
perhaps due to boredom, a poor sex life, or new adventure. sometimes, it's even to make the husband jealous or as retailiation for supposed/real cheating from the husband.
Some people, after a long marriage, become bored with the same people in the same family everyday and they seek to find something new. They may think that cheating gives them a different thrill other than the same old, day after day.

but it may be because something is lacking in the relationship. not enough affection, no respect, lack of communication, loss of interest, etc.
