ok my dad is being such a dick he &mystepmom& mom&stepdad said i could get a nice car for college and my bday(both in november) ,(all agreed to split the $) and now he's backin out saying it doesn't seem "practical" and that i should jus wait til after i graduate cuz it's inconvienent 2 have a car in the city and it's"extravagant". well i personally like 2 have the best of everything and dont u agree girls will like me more then other guys?!. And would u reccomend I maybe jus lease one? or buy a used lux car(thinking jag x-type, or benz c-class, then upgrade after I graduate to a higher end model as I bring in my own salary). But the deal was we were not gona spend more then 15-20k tops(we have connections).

ps. In addition this is a private university and I know kids will be driving nicer Brand New cars so spare the sarcastic comments about how I'm a spoiled & entitledc uz I DON"T wana hear it. I'm a pretty good kid, had jobs b4,saved$, was on tennis, swim team&4-hclub. so yeh

Lease a car. As a college student, money is probably tight. Payments are lower on a lease. And if you are mostly going to be diving locally and not very often (no long road trips), you can get even lower payments by going for a low mileage lease.

After a couple of years, you can lease another car, making the objects of your affection impressed when you drive up in new wheels once again.

Look when you get out of school is a long time away. If you lease you will have restrictions on the miles and will have no trade in value toward the car you want when you graduate. The two cars you mentioned buying used have rotten repair and reliability ratings so they are high maintenance and wont be worth squat in 4 years. If you get this car now you may be on your own with the next one so check the consumer reports and be smart enough to set yourself up money wise for the next one.The girls will like you or not, the car wont make you any points. You have to be a decent real person not an image.Any time a car gets you a date your just the driver.

You will need more than a lux car to be a chick magnet. I would hope that you have more to offer than just a set of wheels. A car however is nice to have while at college so I think you and all of these adults can come to some compromise. No one says that you have to drive an old junker but you dont need the top of the line either. Get a nice midsize reasonably new car thats reliable and good looking. Remember, you have to put gas in it so take that into account when you are shopping. Perhaps if you had a plan on how you will be contributing to the upkeep and insurance etc, you would get more respect from the adults. There are always going to be other kids at school who have more than you but that's just the way life in the real world is. Welcome to adulthood.

From here I can see a few things:

1. You're a spoilt brat

2. You only think from your point of view.

3. You're living in denial. Know that you're spoilt, but use other kids having better things as an excuse to cover up.

Other kids driving new cars doesn't justify you getting your own car.

Get a life.

You're not the only guy who hadjobs, saved $ and was on multiple sports teams before.

kkk...

Which one's the better pick:

a. Chicks dig me coz my daddy bought my car for me!

b. I don't need my dad to buy a car for me. Neither do I need a car for chicks to dig me. Chicks dig me for who I am. Other kids need cars to get chicks coz they can't do it themselves, unlike me.

A car is a luxury, not a must-have bro.

Well, You don't have to agree with what I say. In fact, based on how you behaved so far, you're probably gonna flag me for abuse or something lol. But if you thought that I helped you a little bit, I thank you for being open-minded. If not, I wish you good luck with your future endeavours and that you will remember the hard work you parents put in to pay for whatever you want.
