There are many questions surrounding him now. Can you prove his critics wrong when he recovers by not becoming a first round draft pick bust ala Sam Bowie? Was he worth being drafted #1 overall by Portland knowing that he has health problems? Can Portland be a competitive team this season? Who will step up in Oden's absence? Can Portland compete for the playoffs? There are so many questions that Oden and the Blazers can answer in due time.

Reminds me of Sam Bowie.
I always through Durant was the better player, anyways. Oden will be a flop.

It is truly sad. Boy, will the haters come unglued now! He is still going to be a great player in the NBA. This may actually help him in the long run. He can get well and continue to mature at the same time. I wish him well.

it will affect the team, and they will not reach the playoffs, so Durant has a perfect chance for rookie of the year, and will see the christmas matchup and see the results

Yes, due to his surgery he will sit out the 07-08 season. It may get him a chance to mature as a player as well as give his injusry time to heal.
