I've been looking for a picture with a simple label about where we are within it, is it known? I'd like to think we'd know about where we are within it

Here's a page that describes the Milkyway, and a diagram looking face-on, and about where we are:

The image voltaic device is placed interior the Milky way galaxy, a barred spiral galaxy with a diameter of roughly one hundred,000 gentle-years containing approximately 200 billion stars. Our sunlight is living in between the Milky way's outer spiral palms, ordinary because of the fact the Orion Arm or community Spur. The sunlight lies between 25,000 and 28,000 gentle years from the Galactic Centre, and its speed in the galaxy is approximately 220 kilometers according to 2d, so as that it completes one revolution each and every 225–250 million years. This revolution is ordinary because of the fact the image voltaic device's galactic 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. The image voltaic apex, the direction of the sunlight's direction via interstellar area, is close to the constellation of Hercules interior the direction of the present region of the stunning celebrity Vega.

Near the edge. Get the T shirt at the 2nd source. Of course those are pictures of other galaxies with an arrow pointing to a place similar to where the Earth is in our galaxy. We cannot get a picture of our own galaxy from outside because no space craft can go that far to take the picture.
