Why not?! Plenty of men have children when they're much older than that.

Yes, I think any man who wants to have kids will definitely enjoy them... You wouldn't want kids unless you enjoyed them. But you need to think about when they grow up to become 14 year olds.
Medically, there are some risks. The older the father or mother at time of conception, the higher the possibility that children are born with some problems (down syndrome, autism, etc). The older the father, the more difficult to conceive. Talk to your doctor and ask him/her for advice. He/She will be able to tell your the risks.
Besides medical risks, you also need to look into the future.
Being 47 when the man has a baby, means when the kid is 14, he'll be 61. Being so far apart in age, inevitably leads to a generation gap, especially in an asian society like Singapore. At 61, will dad be able to put himself in his14 year old's shoes? Can he keep lines of communication open?
Also, I think a father has to contribute to raising the child. And raising a child takes tremendous effort and energy. Might an older man not have the stamina to keep up?
I don't have definite answers for you. How a child turns out depends on how the father is like. If someones is 47 years old but is still forward looking and spritely, then there shouldn't be any problems. I'm just giving you something to think about...

yes you can enjoy your baby at 47. My boyfriend is 52 and we have two kids. they are 5 and all most 2. He enjoys both of them very much. The only time you wouldn't enjoy your kids is if you didn't want kids to begin with.

YES! My dad was 47 when my sister was born..it is not too late by any stretch! In fact it is a good time, because they are older and wiser, less narcissistic and egotistical, more established and family-oriented, they have their priorities straight at 47, generally speaking of course

Babies are babies, but its up to you to make the best of it at your age.
Hubby is 45 and said he couldn't do the whole baby routine, his 18 year old gives him enough trouble..lol
