the warranty has been expired..I need a recovery disk...but the hp won't let me have it unless i have credit card/debit card..what if i ask the bestbuy to order it for me so i can buy yet from them? will they?...I can't order the disk because don't have credit or debit.

Is it still running? You may be able to burn your own recovery disk, click "Help" and see if there is a recovery disk wizard.

If it's dead, than you have to buy the CDs, typically $20-30.

Just get your parents order the disk for you. Without your gonna have problems with out it if your do a format of your hard drive.

Most companies are willing to take money orders, call them, or email them and they will give you specific instruction, plus the code numbers, and order numbers, and if you ask who you are speaking to then send the order directly to that person, that way, he/she will already be aware of the order.
