I don't think there's a problem with it. But maybe the taboo goes back to genetics and evolutionary theory - I man will want to procreate, and in order to increase his chances of having his genes survive for generations to come, he will want to have as many babies as possible. If a young man gets with an older woman, it's like he's cheating himself out of some number of years of child-bearing.

Or maybe it's an experience thing - why would a mature older woman want to be with an immature young guy? (Not trying to say all guys are immature, just that if a 30-year old woman is with a 20-year old guy there would be a maturity difference there).

But I say go for it! Do what feels right:-)

I don't know, it's like its more accepted with older men and younger women because its common, but then again its not. Older women who molest younger men (like in the schools), they barely serve any time as much as men who molest young girls. And alot of women recieve counseling after they get out of prison. I think there should be a Dateline :to catch a predator for women as well as men.

I don't know. My mom was a divored woman age 40 with 4 kids, two were teenagers, when she met my step-father who was 28 years old.
They truly loved each other and finally in my moms life she was treated like the queen she was.
They were happily married for 17 years and my mom had 2 more kids when my step-dad got sick with cancer and died at the young age of 45.At least she had those years with him and he took care of all of us.They don't make many men like him.

I don't have a double standard I think it's gross either way. older man/young woman or older woman/young man, it's just not for me, but if that's what someone wants . . . I'm picturing a pruned up body 10 years after the initial hook up.

Good question, and of course I have an opinion !!!

If all parties are of legal age, consenting, and of sound mind ---- then who are we to judge either of them - tho we know "society" will judge the woman.

At least when women are in these types of relationships we know we might look foolish - whereas men are proud and preening peacocks about it - never a thought of "foolish" in their brains.
