all of my cousins got together after so long and we just had so much fun. then we looked at the body and one of my cousins was like gotdam! I was like girl shutup. man our grandma looked like a big black @ss plastic something. i was like if they told us this is the wrong body it would explain. all of this is so hilarious esp. knowing how she was. she cursed caused drama etc but we were used to it and loved her anyway. what do u think? Is this not the most hilarious........

No, you're good. At my great grandmother's wake/funeral (held at roughly the same time) there was a floral arrangement with a plastic telephone in the center of it, and the words "Jesus called" written in glitter bordered by the flowers. One of the pall-bearers moved the arrangement out of the way so that people could walk past the casket to view her body. He stumbled over the tripod legs of the arrangement and knocked the phone off the hook. I kept imagining Jesus calling and getting a busy signal, so I lost it...uncontrollably. I couldn't stop laughing, and I couldn't get that image out of my head. Funerals (in every way that matters) are for the living. If you all came together in a spirit of love, fellowship, and remembrance (which it seems as though you did) who could ask anymore of you than that? Based on the way you've described her, it seems a fitting tribute...she would have been proud, and laughing right along with you.

The point of a wake is celebrating someone's life. It's not wrong to be sad or happy. Your there because you loved her and was part of her life until the end. I've been to a lot of wakes and they were the same.

Traditionally wakes are the opposite of funerals. The whole point behind a wake was originally to have a good time. I don't think you did anything wrong.

I hope they laugh a h3ll of alot at mine. I think it shows what kind of person you were if people laugh and enjoy your life so be it.
Live it up and enjoy the life you are given....then laugh at death. Enjoy the family and friends and let them enjoy you.
