[A bit of background information]

In australia, we have a schooling system, in where in your final year, whatever subjects you undertake and how well you do determines what type of job and all that.

In Australia, the subject 'Philosphy' is offered (its a hard subject, and it said to be a highly scaled subject (they give you extra marks cause its hard)) within the HSC (Higher School Certificate).

Recently, cant remember what years, but two really lame ass questions were asked.

The first question simply asked "Why?"

How would you respond to that?

The second question simply asked "What is courage?"

How would you respond do that?

When answering both questions, consider that you've got 1 hour to each, and you've got as much paper

[I wont tell you answers that got 100% (and its extremely rare to get 100%, i think like only 1 or 2 guys/gurls get it each year, but I'll share the answers when I choose best answer, its really funny what they were..and who wrote em')]

well, without going into a long long explanation, i once got an A+ on a paper that asked "why?", by placing my whole response in the form of questions, i wrote two and a half pages of questions dealing with why, (as in , Why do we wonder why? ,,,, What does "why" mean? ,, etc etc )

i have heard of people getting top marks to the question "what is courage" by writing down "leaving this paper(page) blank" or else only writing "this" on the paper

i would think top marks would go to creativity, as to me there are really no responses to those questions that could be totally right or wrong,

I found it more difficult than past papers I have done, it seemed to take me longer than usual and I found myself frantically writing at the end when I usually finish with some spare time. I somehow missed the easy Q4 part d which made me angry lol. Q8 was probably my worst! I had a stupid mental blank with Q8 part a (4 marks gone dammit!) and I thought the probability for part b was pretty tricky! Part c on Q8 was ok but d I couldn't find k! Q9 a was good for me but the last 2 parts on part b I had issues with... but maybe some sympathy marks will come my way =] Q10 part a was strange but I was able to get i and iii correct I think, but Q10 b was hell! It stressed me out but now that I look at it I think I can understand it, well the first bit at least. At the time I think I went way worse than I actually did and hopefully the marks will be scaled up! Now to study for extension...
