Why does every large company keep you on hold for a long time to talk to them?

They don't keep me on hold at all.

It must just be you.

Well, they have to stand around and chat with each other, so you just have to wait till they get done talking. Or eating and
drinking . That way we are supposed to think , gosh they are
sooo busy.

Because they want you to hang up. Now, if you owe them money, they get to you faster. I found that when I not pay for about 2 months, they talk to me right away, a real person.
