Anyone in L.A. who used to live in Cleveland? Moving soon & looking for looking L.A.'s version of Shaker Sqare

I used to live on Shaker Square in Cleveland and I'm moving pretty soon with my job to the City of Angels. Because of the suddenness of the move, I don't have alot of time to do too much apartment hunting in such a big city. I am hoping someone familiar with both areas may be able to point me in the right direction.

Shaker and the whole east side of Cleveland should be erased and started over...Aim higher than that, try for an area similar to Rocky River or Bay.
