Go to the zoo, then take the brackenridge eagle to the Witte Museum. Here there is an exhibit called Return of the Dinosaurs: Extreme Makeover. Walk across the street to Picante Grill, a wonder and inexpensive Mexican restaurant, then walk up the end of the block to the Botanical Gardens. Next drive down N. New Braunfels to the McNay Art Institute where there are Renau's and Picasso's. The outside itself is beautiful for photos. Come back around to the HEB Central Market and have a $5 massage for all the walking around you've done and head over to Incarnate Word where there is a big beautiful old church with lots of stained glass. All this is in the 78209 area code. That's a day in itself.
On the other side of the Tower of AMerica, where you can see the whole city, there is the institute of Texas Cultures. Their current exhibit is Here Be Dragons where Museum visitors are invited to explore the origin of dragons, their cultural significance, and how they found their way to Texas and Texas culture. That's on Durango St. A little ways down toward LaVillita, there is a street called Alamo. Go into Southtown and have dinner at MadHatters. It's a local spot. Great cusine, great price. Drive further to Blue Star Arts where there is a micro brewery and try the various beer and then go across the railroad tracks to La Tuna, where you can listen to some awesome local bands in the evening. Day two.
The Aztec Theater has a really nice exhibit about the aztec natives and the IMAX is doing a piece on the Mayans. The Majestic Theater is having an interactive show with the symphony and you can go to the Gunter Hotel and just relax. Rooms run about $150 a night , it's on the river walk and they say a maid who died still thinks she's cleaning the rooms there. She won't talk to you, but you may catch a glimpse of her floating by. Day 3
I hope you enjoy our beautiful city and if you have a chance, go by to six flags of texas or seaworld. That's a bit more expensive, but you can get coupons at Sonic and HEB.

Well, there's Seaworld, the River Walk, a bunch of different museums. And the Mission Trail. It goes a lot further than only the Alamo. There are several old missions that each have a fantastic history to learn about. I've been to San Antonio several times, and I always enjoy myself when I go.
Have fun, and enjoy Texas while you are here.

Lalana said it all. I lived there from 1987-1990 and absolutely loved it. If my wife wasn't so averse to heat (suffers from M.S.) I would want to live there now.
