I have been SCREAMING at my TV for the last 2years hoping the Cowboys coaching staff will start and give Barber the majority of the carries. I have no clue why people feel Jones is a better back...he's slower...hes wider...and lacks elusiveness PLUS he doesn't finish the run. I can count on Barber laying wood to a corner back that comes up in run support, catching balls out in the flat and being a well rounded threat *Jones would just fall over him or run out of bounds*...i dont know about you but a REAL Cowboy fan would want a back that punishes any and all tacklers.
I'm looking forward to next years 2 back tandem in Barber and McFadden!!!
HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!

Barber is far better than Jones.
Jones is an overrated Notre Dame prospect that overrated, "has been" Parcells was in love with.
Jones needs a hole the size of the state of Texas to run through.
If anyone thinks Jones is better than Barber must have not watched Barber's touchdown run against the Giants in the Sunday night game last week.
If Barber was the featured back, he would achieve 1200-1400 yards, 12+ touchdowns easily.
Jones is in a contract year. If he doesn't produce, I honestly see the Cowboys making a move this offseason to draft one of the top running backs coming out next year. Dallas has two 1st rounders next year.
Watch and see.. you are only fooling yourself if you think Jones is going to be a Cowboy next year.

Julius jones won the starting position because in training camp he was the best, but to answer your question, no I don't think he should start, marion barber may not be as fast or whatever, the fact of the matter is marion barber produces better than julius jones, and therefore should be reward accordingly.

I think the Cowboys should go with Barber. He is by far the best back they have and for people saying that Jones is quicker......... I don't know what team they are watching? And for your suggestion for the Cowboys to look into Corey Dillion, they already have a back (Barber) that can get the job done in short yardage situations. Barber is a freak of nature and the Cowboys should most definitely utilize his skills.

i think barber is a better rb no matter how you look at it. trade jones get a number two wr because glenn is always injured and dallas gets that much tougher. jones showed some potential as a rookie but has not done much since then. they obviously dont think he is a hard nose tough runner because they plug barber in when inside the ten.

Yeah, but that's the beauty of change of pace backs. JJ is a reliable, non-fumbling 3 yards a carry back, then you bring in Marion Barber III to juice it up. They're an effective tandem.

The Cowboys will not go to a featured back because their schemes revolve around two running backs not one.
