Well what do you mean if you ever had the opportunity. There is always the opportunity. I would probably say it in letter form. Letters are precious and meaningful. However, I suppose you have to be careful with this as it means there is a record forever, you may regret this. I suppose we are inhibited and tend to be very careful of who we give this information too. There are people I do care about deeply and would never say that because it's just not what you say. But if it is safe to say it to someone and you truly love them, then I thinking nothing beats a beautiful letter. Typed with a lovely font, on beautiful paper and rolled with a lovely ribbon is just perfect. I proposed to my husband this way. I was madly in love with him from the moment we met on a blind date. I knew this was the one and I didn't want to wait. Five days after we met I sent him a proposal in the mail on beautiful paper in a lovely big font saying will you marry me then a few other words as well. I posted it and was going away for the weekend. He spoke to me the day I sent it and said "you know, we are just connecting so way and I really feel this relationship is going to good things - but don't expect me to propose to you or anything".

OMG. Total heart attack. How can I stop the mail blah blah blah. Was totally stressed the next 24 hours. When he got my letter he said "I got your letter, we'll talk about it tomorrow night at dinner". More heart attacks.

But guess what. He said yes.
We got engaged after only a week of being together, that we met June 27th 1997, engaged 3rd July, moved in together end of July 1997, married Dec 12th 1998. I think some of his friends thought I was after his money. But needless to say we have lasted, not without our ups and downs but we are still together!

So - that's why I think it's so great to tell someone how you feel by letter.

Send her this:

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will l always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

The only time I ever told someone and meant it.. We were drinking and I told him to tell me a secret.. He said just wait until all these people leave, I'll tell you the best secret of all. Later we went to bed and I said, What's the secret? And he said, I love you. And I said.. I love you too.

I said it once when I thought I meant it, I whispered it in his ear right before I got out of the car when he was dropping me off at home, he was upset about something and I thought I could make him feel better. I don't think I was in love though.

That's a scary thing to do! and I'm giving you a star because it's a good question!
I would be afraid of rejection, so to lay my feelings out there like that would be scary.
How well do you know them? And how do you think they feel about you? If you have been dating them for a while and ready to take it to the next level then just tell them >>> I love you!

I do not want to leave this world, without my family & friends knowing, that I love them unconditionaly.

I have taken that opportunity for yrs. now, to tell them so, every time we talk.~~ Sometimes they beat me to it.

Love is shown, meant & exchanged. Not just words but with the touch & the eyes.

When your life hangs in the balance, then you realize the importance of your question.~~~~

I tell my friends & loved ones all the time that I love them. Most of the time it's verbally or texted but I do leave notes on their 360's saying ♥ya or something. It's important because you never know when tomorrow might not come.

I've never said those three words to anyone because I would never have felt truthful saying them ... so far. Even for the sake of answering your question, I cannot guess or plan in advance what I would do. Suffice to say, I hope it would be spontaneous and even take ME by surprise - that way I know it would be sincerely felt and truthful, whether or not it was reciprocated.
