if you mean 3 phase wiring...it is for commercial use mainly so they can run very large motors that would pull way less amps than single phase motors....3 phase wiring will have 3 hot lines 1 neutral and 1 ground...most 3 phase is 208-240 volts and 480 volts .....you can get 110 volts off of a three phase system but you must have 230 volts at the main power supplying the power box in order to attain 110 volts....you get 230 volts between any two hot lines except one which will have 250 volts ....to get 110 you have to use one hot line and the neutral from the 230 volt system....sorry do not know about e books

3 Phase wiring is used in industrial and commercial installations mostly. It is also used on farms. People who use a lot of big motors want 3 phase wiring because it is a more efficient running motor. It has no capacitors and relays to burn out and etc. 3 Phase power is 3 wires with a voltage potential alternating at 60 cycles (50 in some countries) per second and each wire is cycling out of phase with the others. There is no neutral and no ground IN THE CIRCUIT. The ground is for safety and is a 4th wire. Neutral can be added if you want to use one or two of the phases for house wiring. If it is 480 3phase the voltage off one phase is two large to use as house voltage. You will have to use a transformer to change the voltage. I am pretty sure you DON"T want 3 phase wiring...

There are more injuries and death from people being careless with 120 volt than any other voltages.Residential voltages 120/240 single phase. It is the amps that does the damage not the voltage.General receptacle and lighting circuits are rated at 15 or 20 amp.As little as 1/10 of an amp can cause your heart to stop.
Three phase only 2 examples 208Y/120 or 277/480.
If you follow the link it will explain more details
Good Luck and I hope this helps

It is Three Phase Wiring. The electrical connection for domestic use will be supplied with 3 Phases each phase consist of a positive and a neutral charge. If you have more appliances the single phase connection will not withstand the load you have to change fuse often. If you obtain a three phase connection, the three phases are distributed evenly from the electical input of your main box to accommadate your electrical load. Apart from positive and neutral wires, earth wire is also required for proper earthing of electical seepage.

There are two types of electric connections
1. Single Phase (220 V):
Single Phase Wiring/Connection is used in houses where electric load is around 1000 W to 1500 W. In general One TV Set, One Refrigerator, One Audio/ Video Equipment. Iron, Gysers etc.
2. Three Phase (440V)
When Load of Electricity increases due to increase in number of electric equipments you have to go Three Phase Connection.
Scientificaly - 11KV(High Tension Line ) is Converted in Three Lines by the help of Tranformers. Those who require more elecricity goes for Three Phase Connection.

I think your talking about three phase wiring, and if thats the case, you need new lines run to your house...Call your local power company and tell them you want a 240 amp three phase service..

Three phase wiring would be 220 volts, minimum, versus single phase at 110 volts.
