Ok my mom is-she only knows half her heritage-Irish[1/4], Scottish [1/8] and Cherokee Indian[1/8]. My dad is-Cherokee Indian[1/2], Spanish [1/4], and Scottish [1/4].

Am I enough Cherokee Indian to be Other or Bi-Racial?

If my appearance matters-I have Hazel eyes that sometimes turn Brown. I have blonde hair cause I color it that way but it's naturally a light/medium shade of brown w/ a little bit of auburn. I have kinda light/medium skin. Like in that true-match make-up I wear a W3. [That's my natural skin tone]

No I don't think so. If we started looking at things like that, then everybody would be biracial.

I could ask you the same question my full blooded grandfather asked me when he heard me tell someone that I was 1/2 Cherokee. He looked at me and asked which 1/2 was Cherokee? He said you either are Cherokee or you are not...

If you live the Cherokee culture then you are Cherokee. If you live as a "white" person then that is what you are...

It's not the quantity of Indian blood in your veins but the quality of it. Your pride in being....

First of all Beyonce' isn't biracial, both of her parents are black. You are right, you can consider yourself black or white, and since you were raised in white culture you are considering yourself ethnically white which is OK! BUT you are actually Black/White. In racist America if your skin isn't white, you are not viewed as a white American. Even though your white friends may treat you well, you are in denial if you think they don't recognize your origin. Ethnically black Americans have always viewed African/Euro descent as black. It goes back to the established culture of white Americans. The whites that you grew up with were trying to be politically correct, black people have an ethnic trait of being brutally honest about such things. No offense intended, and probably none intended by the girls as well. You need to embrace you black heritage with the black ladies! just like your white heritage with the white ladies! Being in the same situation myself, when in Rome do as the Romans!

I find that answer to be further in oneself than just what someone learns from one's parents or society. Ask yourself, say feet, "who am I"; your feet will give the silent answer. Cherokees are just regular people; they are good bad, black, white and anything that comes to mind.
Whatever we are" willingly" is where we are least offended. It is what we "don't" want to be that is really challenging.
Make up your own mind as to what you feel you are. Even siblings are not all the same. Believe in yourself and that you can lead your own way. Using what other tell us we are is shallow at best. We should explore the realms of knowledge to learn more about ourselves and others. We are the first to choose who and what we are, as well as where we live and with whom we identify ourselves .

No...you are not "technically" bi-racial...that would mean you are black-white..."other" would not be correct either....because you are not HALF anything....(meaning one of your parents was ALL Indian, Hispanic, etc) or ALL anything (meaning BOTH of your parents would be Indian or Hispanic or whatever)...you are Caucasian...white...
Sorry....by the time the "1/4 Spanish" or whatever gets watered down to you...it's not enough to "count"....

You're a human being! You are from where you feel you're from, I was born in UK, studied somewhere alse and ended up in (up till now) Australia! People say all kinds of things about where I SHOULD be from, but I am 100% Indian because that's where I FEEL I'm from.
