khorat k – Do you really think it is a good idea to just put big walls up around our nation, huddle down and hope everything else in the outside world goes in our favor?
Why do you want law enforcement in your neighborhood? To keep the crime down.
Think of the world as your neighborhood. If we just allowed every sicko, nutball leader of a country to cut off our oil supplies and acquire WMD’s you would never drink another macchiato or watch the Simpson’s again.
Isolationism will only get us killed. Denial will only get us killed.
The enemy is whoever is going to get you killed no matter which side he is on.
Surely you don’t want to get us all killed do you?

Strattz – because Clinton was too busy playing with his interns in the oval office when he should have been fighting the war we are in now.
Remember this?
After the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five US military personnel, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1996 al-Khobar towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 US military personnel, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
After the 1998 bombing of US embassies in Africa, which killed 257 and injured 5,000, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured three US sailors, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.
Maybe if Mr Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 7,000 more people would be alive today.

ndqbill - while respect a lot of what you state and pursue much of what you advise for reading, we must deal with what we have. I wish we could just forget the past and move forward but, the enemy wouldn't allow that. They wouldn’t say, “hey thanks for understanding our grievances, tea anyone?”.
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah, ... nor follow
the religion of truth... until they pay the tax in acknowledg-ment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection."
Qur'an, Sura 9:29
We must defend ourselves from the threats of this world, even if it is as penance for our past mistakes. I won’t lay down and die for any reason.
