Bringing the troop levels down to presurge levels is not a reduction. He doesn't have any choice, but to start bringing some of them out. The military is stretched too thin and it's pretty obvious the reason for that is those who support this war aren't willing to put their lives where their mouths are. If the draft ever was reinstated you would see the prowar advocates head for the hills.
I don't believe anything that Bush says anymore. I haven't believed him since he first claimed to be a "compassionate conservative".
And Bush is a shyster. He only claims to be a Christian to get the Christian vote. No Christian could possibly support torture and Bush obviously does. That's what his Presidential attachment to the McCain antitorture bill states. He's a shyster and an abomination.

Some of the troops will be home, next year, in time for Republicans to say, see, we are bringing the troops home in the elections. More than a little self serving, but this is politics and that's what politics are.
To maintain the level of troops at surge levels we would need to draft, that's not going to happen. So, no more surge levels.
I think he believes hes a Christian, lately I've found that there aren't too many Christians left who truly understand Christs message. They are filled with a Fallwellian interpretation that isn't very close at all to the way Christ lived and taught. So maybe Bush is a Televangelist Christian.
One other note, they are not taking the cream of the crop and in fact have steadily lowered their educational and IQ levels.
This isn't to put down the men in the service, or their bravery, but it is a fact. I'd give you sites, but I'm never sure anymore which ones are believed. So do a search for "lower standards for enlisting" and find one you do believe.

I don't call this a reduction, especially since the government will continue to send troops to Iraq. When you are sending more than the number returning, it's not a reduction. It's an illusion designed to placate those who aren't in the know. I would believe GWB to be the anti-christ described in revelations. He will pay for his crimes when he meets his maker. I trust GWB implicitly and wholeheartedly -- to do the wrong thing and to be arrogant and stubborn and mostly stupid!

Believeing him is like believing a person who has multi personal disorder or even a psycho path. (oh wait that describes Bush) I do not believe him about anything. I swear that man could say he is having chicken for lunch we all know he is having steak. Too bad the man has to big of an ego to admit he screwed up. Who in their right mind wanted this man again. At this point we could put a five year old in the white house and they can not even think about making it any more screwed up. Thats what a great job bush and dick are doing

Yes, but the total number of troops reduced amounts to zip, so he still gets his way, and can say he reduced troops levels. This is the same making an item sell for 99 cents, and advertising that it is under a dollar, technically true, but it is still deceptive advertising..

Read all the news and not just the headline getters. The troop withdrawal was already in the works because it is the ones who are due to rotate back home that comprise the number being "reduction in forces". It's all sleight of hand.

It's obvious you don't believe anything, so why should we have any confidence in your humble opinion when you refuse to look at what is truly happening. The troop levels are reducing to pre-surge levels. That much is true. He never said he was pulling all the troops out. There were no lies about this war, except for what has been heralded by the left to regain power AFTER they voted for it. So they are the ones without credibility in my humble opinion.

By the way you talk, it is obvious you are not an American or at least not a good one. Good, bad or indifferent, Bush is the President of the United States. If you don't like him, next year vote for someone you do like. My son has been over to that 'fiasco' three times and is going back in January. That is his job and he does what is expected of him. You are a complainer and a baffoon. I don't think they are going to reinstate the draft....the military is getting too picky in their choices. They take the cream of the crop, not the village idiot. So, I guess you won't be accepted.
Oh by the way, do you want the fighting to be here? It is better for it to be in another country and not ours. Remember 9-11

No, I do not believe the president.. and I never will. He lied us into a war.. and has just kept the lies up... so anything he said last night or last month... all the same.. just more lies.
