Some Jews did live in Palestine. The Arab world usually welcomed Jews (more than Europeans did, anyhow). Why did the Zionists need to evict the Arab population in 1948?

"So why don't some of the Arab countries that "sympathize" with the Palestinians give them some of their land? Would that solve the problem?"
I agree. The Palestinian issue should be resolved through a compromise between the Arab states and Israel. Both are responsible for the Naqba and both should deal with the refugee problem.

The land partitioned for the state of Israel in 1948 had a majority Jewish population, that was the entire point.

The Nakaba did not have to happen if the Arabs would have been willing to talk, but they did not.

As for the current refugee problem now, I agree both sides need to deal with it.

so what I suggest is Israel should compensate those Palestinians who were expelled and the Arab states who expelled Jews should compensate Israel.

In the end it should even out.

Look, the Palestinians are looked down on by most arab countries, they just like to use them to stir up the pot against Israel. truth be told the scariest thing for the arab states would be an alliance between the two.

The people that inhabited the land 50 years ago were told to leave because the Arab countries surrounding Israel were coming in to kill every Jewish man, woman, and child, to rid the region of the Jews.
.
This did not happen.
.
Instead, the Palestinians left.
.
The Jews kicked the crap out of all the Arab countries involved and the Palestinians were left high and dry in whatever country they had become refugees in.
.
The Israelis not surprisingly did not invite them back .
.
.End of Story

Because the Arabs drove all of the Jews out of their homes in Arab lands - forcing them to move to Israel.

In fact I have a simple plan for compensation for the Palestinians who lost their land. Just give them the land that the Arabs confiscated from the Jews.

The Jews were the ones there; they had been dying of malaria draining swamps, planting trees and building towns for 100 years already.

The Arab countries stole their Jews' belongings, killed many, and expelled the rest.

Which people are you talking about? There was no Palestinian state in Israel EVER, yet they still claim a sovereign right to that land. Or are you talking about the Arab nations who invaded and slaughtered every Jew in their path, for no other reason than the fact that they were Jewish? Are you saying they deserve that land because they somehow earned it?

The Jews had title to the land thousands of years ago. The only were able to reclaim it recently. Check your history. Even if you don't believe in God the Bible is a couple thousand years old.

Lots of Jews lived in Palestine before Israel was established. Perhaps you'd like to reframe the question so it is less troll-like and more answerable.
