Made in the USA!
Product of the USA

Manufactured in the USA
Assembled in the USA

Would these types of labels encourage you to buy USA products over foreign produced products?

Would you like to know if the USA companies are sending the work to foreign countries where we have no control of lead paints, toxic additives, USA banned insecticides and pesticides, forced child labor, etc.?

Would USA labeling help to bring jobs back to the USA?

USA Products would likely cost more, but at least you would know that it wasn't made with child slave labor. You would have better control over the safety standards and content.

When organic foods were first introduced, some people bought it because they had developed chemical sensitivities or wanted better for their family.

Supply and demand has allowed the price of the organic products to come down since so many people have decided it is a healthier choice. More stores carry wider varieties of organic foods because the public wants it and there is money to be made.

Supply and demand drives the industry. If people were willing to pay more for USA products because it helped to keep taxes and jobs in the USA as well as offered the same or better quality, wouldn't you want to know which products you could select to benefit our country as a whole?

When people no longer have jobs, government money goes away or income and state taxes increase to offset the difference.

People should have a choice when they shop. If everything is not labeled, how do you know where it came from?

Many countries use chemicals on foods that have been banned in the USA, and yet they are still on our grocery shelves. We cannot control what other countries do to their food because they are under their country's laws - not USA laws.

Many countries do not abide by the import/export regulations. Look at the loss of pets from China using additives to artificially raise the level of nutrients in foods shipped to Canada for canning. Look at the lead paint in toys, poisons in medicine, etc.

I want to know where my food was grown and what chemicals were used. I want to know if antibiotics and hormones were injected in animals. I buy organic because of allergies from these things. I can either pay more for the food or give my money to the doctor.

I choose health and a productive life without premature aging from growth hormones in meats to make them fat faster.

Sure it would but instead of saying:

Made in the USA!
Product of the USA
Grown in the USA
Manufactured in the USA
Assembled in the USA

They should say :

Made in the (State name, City name) USA!
Product of the USA
Grown in the (State) USA
Manufactured in (State name, city name) USA
Assembled in the (State name City name) USA

i guess people just dont rly buy american products because they are not always reliable... oh well

Yes, I would like to know where everything comes from but especially my food, and it's ingredients. And this information we don't usually get, also I'd like to know of any unnatural treatment it's had and have it labeled as what it is, not like saying it's homogenized when it's been irradiated. I'm concerned about purchasing things from countries like China because of there working conditions, especially for children. With all the money Walmart and companies make on there products they have a moral obilgation to not be exploiting people and doing all they can to see that this does not happen.

This is not a new issue. Unfortunately it never last past school clothes time.
Too big a price difference. Perhaps if we had price controls to back it up it could work.
I always try to buy American.
Have you seen the new American 50 cent certificate. It's called the dollar bill, and it's because so many drive Toyota.

I would like to see a demand for quality from consumers. Products already have to be labeled expect food. You wouldn't believe how much crap I get from China/Mexico that is worth selling or is unsafe. The only way we are going to bring jobs back to the US is to cut medical costs and taxes.

if this would result in less of my (our) tax dollars going to govt instituted labeling, NO. there are too many issues like taking care of our soldiers returning from war with serious non-visible disabilities that the military is currently ignoring to address with dollars - which results in more tax dollars being spent on these guys who are thrown to the wolves and may end up in jail instead of leaving the military with stability, guidance, contributing to gainful employment and creating more productive consumers.

it's so easy to say yes, i am a patriotic individual (although i also prefer japanese vehicles), and would support this is it was that simple. when you look at the implications in whole, this would not be my priority for govt funding.

I tend to purchase products that are cost effective, gives me my moneys worth, and have durability. Unless the American citizen is willing to be paid what the factory workers abroad get paid so that American companies can afford to produce their goods here, I'm content with where my products come from now.

What do you have against lesser developed and impoverished countries making an American dollar and progressing alone with the rest of us?

I would like to know. Some people feel that products made in the USA cost more, I feel they do, but they are better in quality.
