does anyone (who remembers) agree that songs of the sixties were much more pleasant because you could sing along to them...(and i still do...or try to ..lol) and you could almost match any song to something that has happened in your life.
I like some modern music.....im a sad Westlife fan!!. but of course their music means something too.
Maybe I'm just too nostalgic.

I know what you mean, i love the sixties music , it made sense etc. My parents used to tell me to turn the radio off because it was devils music, can you believe it if you listen to some of the rubbish they have on today, swearing etc. Matching the songs, how right you are, i remember my daughter and her boyfriend parted ways and she was lying in the bedroom crying, i was listening to my sixties music and each and every song made her cry even more, shame , we have a good laugh about it now. I love music , rap is not music it is an excuse for someone who cannot sing to talk rubbish. :)

The songs of the sixties were much better than to-days. As you say all ages could sing along with them. Also the lyrics were great. I wish to-days song writers could come up with just a few that will go down in history in the same way.

love the 60,s music i am a vocalist and most of what i sing is 60,s and 70,s music and a bit of country and latin
and yes i can remember how old i was and what i was doing with my life when i hear certain songs from that era
it makes me laugh when they revamp songs from that time and people think they are new ones

I remember being about 7 or 8 years old, singing along to the Stones' Honky Tonk Woman, and being told in no uncertain terms by my mother that I WAS NOT to repeat lines like, 'she tried to take me upstairs for a ride'!
So it wasn't all plain sailing!!

Song lyrics from the sixties were much "cleaner". There was certianly double entendres, but people didn't just say the things they say now. Half of the songs on the radio today, you can't let your children listen to!

I do like some of the 60's music and especially the 70's - I've got to be honest though, I really don't like the Beatles sound.

i like them for the same reason

but theres a good explanation for that

in most of the songs from that era you can " actually tell " what they are saying so its a lot easier to sing along

" god am starting to sound like my dad " lol

all the best

No you're not, I feel the same, the sixties music is still going strong today, and it's still the best.
