I am working now, but have found a new position that would be great for me @ another company. When submitting a resume' they ask that you list my "salary requirements". This opportunity would be a paralel move for me, so should I ask for what I make @ my present situation and the bennies that I have now..... or more?

Ask for 10% more, that gives the other company room to negotiate. But be "specifically vague".

Do not say: Salary Requirement: $46,000

Say: Salary Requirement: Mid to Upper $40's annually.

This leaves the door open for a range from $43 to $48 k, much easier for an HR person to consider.

Good luck

asking and getting are 2 different things - I'm sure the company has a specific salary range attached to the position, so if you ask for more than they are willing to pay - you probably won't get the job

I always say, I prefer to discuss my salary requirements during an interview. If they think your skills are what they need, they will contact you.

Ask for whatever you think you are worth to the new company.
