Salvation is the culmination of an action by which our foundation for significance and meaning is transformed to a relationship of love with our Creator rather than the praise of other people. We are of worth, not because of what we do, but simply because we are the children of God.
We have this human desire for our lives to have meaning (worth) and our great tendency is to try and find our meaning though the things that we do that gain us praise. It is spending our lives in a never ending search for good feelings.
Essentially salvation is finding joy in a supernatural communion with God rather than seeking our happiness in our own good feelings.
Salvation conforms our desires in life to the process of strengthening our relationship with our Creator. We want to help and treat others with love, not so we can gain praise, but because where love is, there God is also.

Abanti,
Wow. I didn't know this was still an issue after 4000 years.
Clearly, the desire to escape desire of life, is a desire.
The known universe is cyclical in nature, and spectral in its function. Where, in there, is there a desire for extinction to be realised, unless one posits a realm that exists only spiritually. That would, if it were, be like the heaven imagined by poor people of having a nice house and clothing and enough good food. There are billions of people who have that, are they free of desire? Those people desire having millions and driving Maserati's and wearing beautiful jewels. Are those people free of desire?
I realise that I am writing about the material world, but does the spirit world extinguish human nature? If so, what use is it to humans?
It is far better to seek enlightenment in this life so the next reincarnation is enlightened and we spend all out time helping those who thought they didn't need to make the effort.

hi Sasi. it fairly is physically powerful to work out you're nonetheless right here. i think that the Bible says, "Wherefore, my liked, as ye have continuously obeyed, no longer as in my presence basically, yet now lots extra in my absence, artwork out your individual salvation with concern and trembling" in Philippians 2:12. I do have confidence that we would desire to stay dedicated whilst we grow to be Christians because of the fact of what the Apostle John wrote in Rvelation 2:10 (stay dedicated until eventually loss of life). I even have confidence that what Christ suggested in Matthew 28:18-20 is significant for our salvation in the great fee. i'm no longer a JW yet i decide on in no thank you to throw rocks at them or at different's ideals. Have a great week. thank you, Eds ~~~ .

It really means nothing. It is part of a con game. You are supposed to attend a church regularly and pay the preacher to earn this salvation. I was too smart to fall for that, even when I was a child. mom's father waas a pastor, and her nnephew is, but I am an atheist.

Salvation is like vacation, you will be saved from pain and suffering in hell to love and joy in heaven. You will still be going through troubles while here even though saved but the future is much brighter

I consider salvation as all-in-all satisfaction so that desire does not arise in the mind anymore.

depends on what kind of salvation you're talking about. But if you're talking about salvation like God, then no.
Salvation mean being saved. That when you die you go to heaven with God and not hell. Being saved means you have accepted God as your personal saviour that you cannot be saved without him,
