That's funny, I was going to mention the Matrix. Here's a couple more:

These are GREAT movies, old style Oriental culture mixed with Matrix-like martial arts.

Most science fiction movies violate the known laws of physics; they're suppose to be depicting future presently *unknown* technologies which use unknown laws. The Matrix scenes, though, don't violate any laws because it's a virtual reality - just a fancy video game.

Star Trek violates laws big time and all the time. They seem to just make it up as they go along. Usually it's the movies that take place in the present or "not too distant future" that hold closer to reality. I didn't catch any glaring violations in Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke, for example (although there was the one van scene :-)
