Yes. I wrote a letter to the editor of our local community newspaper a few years ago when my house was burgled for the second time in as many months. They published it with the title, 'A Curse On Thieves'.

my mom has several times, hers have been published
i wrote 1 recently about the abuse of dialing 911
how 60+% of the calls we get on 911 aren't emergencies
how people are trigger happy to call but don't think- oh hey it's a non emergency i bet there is another # that i can call that won't tie up a 911 line.
don't get me wrong i love my job but get irritated hearing - this is a non emergency - time and again
when i know there are other calls to be answered where the call might really have an emergency
