I didn't mean to do a song as an answer to a question, but it came out that way. Since it was an answer to another question, you'll have to link to it to see it, then come back and answer. :) Thanks.

Give it a thumbs up if you like it! Thanks!

It is an interesting composition although I am not certain "gonna" and such slangish terms reflect seriousness on your part. However, I understand, it was meant to be a song and thus the melody, lyrics, and rhythm matter more than lexical choices.
You sound quite genuine when it comes to what Bono is looking for. Thanks for that expression of honesty.

May God bless you.

Though my bonds and chains are broken,
Though the city walls I've scaled,
What I'm looking for's not yet been
Fully unveiled.
Though I've kissed those lips of honey,
Felt her fingertips,
I don't see the light, it's like a
Total eclipse.

I find this verse fascinating, as I always find references to kisses intriguing. I also love the phrase "I don't see the light, its like a Total eclipse."

I'm hoping that metaphorically speaking the speaker was not looking at the eclipse directly, but using special viewing glasses or those specially constructed boxes with the pin hole. Not to digress but watching eclipses always makes me think of Lot's wife looking back at S&G, then poof she's rival for Morton's.

I could go on forever about how much I love U2 and their lyrics, but rather I'll sum everything up like this:

The written/sung word is a very powerful aphrodisiac.
Some folks are exceptionally gifted at this power, and deliver beautifully on the main course as they do on the appetizing word.

Although many would consider Bridges of Madison County to be a complete and utter chick flick, I have lived the words of Francesca:

"And in that moment, everything I knew to be true about myself up until then was gone. I was acting like another woman, yet I was more myself than ever before."

And that I cannot regret.

I'm not sure. A song about a song-writer? Bono is ten years after my time. I would not write a song about Robert Plant or Jimmy Page.

The framework is good and you tell the story well. I'm just not enthralled with the subject like his fan-base is.
