Acer laptop compared to others?

Need inputs on Acer laptops as compared to Dell, HP or Compaq laptop.

Acer is one of the most trusted brands in the world, but unfortunately it cannot compete with HP. For me, it is on the same level as Dell, and acer can raise its standards. almost all of their laptops are reasonably priced and are of great quality. if u are ready to spend big, the acer ferrari series has the potential to become as good as Hp. this is my table -

1) HP
2) Acer
3) Dell

All acer laptops caome with warrantyes as good as Hp, and most of all the same specs ie vista, ram, hdd, cpu, etc

Go for dell or HP they are the best than acer acer is the local brand compared to the other laptops it will have lot of problems

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I've had 2 Acer laptops in the past and hinges have cracked right off both of them. I work at a certain electrical store and we get about two of them back a month with the same problem. It seems to be a big problem with them and Acer just deny it.

Let me rate this performace wise:
1. Dell
2. HP/Compaq
3. Acer

Price Wise:
1. Compaq/Acer
2. HP
3. Dell

If your budget is less than 35k, go for Compaq or Acer. Below 50k, go for HP and Dell if its above 45k

I like Dell. It is hassle-free and there is a good technical support. But, compare to Acer or other PCs, I don't much of the differences.

I think so HCL or Sony vaio can be compared highly with acer laptops.
