The plant stands about 1.2m high and has a broad leaf at the end of two thick stems. One of the stems is directly growing out of the base of the other, very close to the ground. During the night, the plant emits water from its leafs.
I have no clue on any common names.

It would be a lot easier to id if you posted a picture. I have a banana plant that drips something from the tips of its leaves. Do a google search on banana plant (or musa, its latin name) and use the images tab to try to id this plant. I've been on gardening forums to id plants before now with great success.

could be oozing water to get rid of excess water - are you over watering it?
Any plant will do this and its not a clue to any specific species.

I have a banana tree and it sounds a lot like that!!!! It needs a lot of light and it should have leaves that grow quickly if fertilized and water with lots of light!!!!!!!
