Why does Jodie Foster only make disturbing movies?

Ever since Silence of the Lambs and The Accused Jodie has only made disturbing movies. No comedies. No romantic comedies. No action-adventure. Why? Is she that one dimensional? Please explain, and list all of Jodie's disturbing moveis.

Perhaps you still see her as a little disturbing even in otherwise straightforward movies?
in some roles: some she takes a pretty ordinary role in, like Little Man Tate, Sommersby I think she adds edge to the characters and though it makes for a tough movie, they are good.

Most movies of value have something weird in them, and you maybe think that she doesn't exactly fit the genre stereotype. I think she likes interesting roles, is all.

I do think she could do comedy, of the kind of comedy of life Black Books type stuff really well, but either it doen't appeal or perhaps she is turned off by the idiots who want everything to be a goofball comedy or a one-dimensional rom-com.
Not like I love her or anything, though...just answering..

Probably because those are the roles that appeal to her most. Inside Man wasn't too disturbing. Flight plan wasn't either. Panic Room was a little. I'm going to see The Brave One tonight even though the reviews are mixed.

how can you say she is one dimensional. she's a great actress that's really been all over the place. you have nell, maverick, sommersby, inside man, contact, panic room. those aren't disturbing movies. I think she shows a lot of range.

Well she's not exactly a quote "classic hollywood beauty." Most other actresses skate by on fluffy part with their looks. Jodie can't do that. I think she gose for more real acting jobs. You know?

I think that she focuses on dramatic movies and true stories . that is why you might think that she makes distrubing movies . She is far from one dimensional . to me she is a very good actress . good luck .
