If it is expensive or a delicate fabric take it to the dry cleaners. Be sure to point out the stain and tell them what the stain is AND that it has been washed and dried.

As long as it's not a delicate fabric you can dampen the stain with warm water, let sit a few minutes and then spray with Fantastic Orange COMMERCIAL Spray Cleaner. It's NOT a concentrate and is found at Home Depot in a regular household size spray bottle for about $4.

Spray directly on the stain and let sit another few minutes. Then use a clean, non-abrasive pot & pan scrubbie to gently "scrub" the stain from both sides in a circular pattern. Remember GENTLY; if you scrub hard you could damage the fabric. Let sit another few minutes and wash in the hottest water the fabric recommends.

Don't dry it until you check the stain, you may have to repeat steps to get rid of it.

Or try M-30 found in a small tub type container at Dollar type stores, I get mine at Fred's for $1. It's a beige, thick pudding like consistancy. I think it stinks and sometimes you have to wash twice to get the smell out but it is cheap and works on tough fabrics.

The drying part of the laundering sets the stain. you can try the other suggestions, and I have a couple of others in addition to those.. I have used the 'tide stain stick' for all kinds of things and that has worked amazingly well.. sharpee pen out of the couch.. for example, don't know how it would react to a set grease stain.

dishwasher machine detergent has enzymes that eat up grease, where regular detergent doesn't have these, but it may cause discoloration. I've used it before I wash.. but someone who said 'dawn detergent' is right on the mark, it is great on disolving grease and oils..

what *I* do, is the old fashioned way, squirt a little lemon on the stain, rub with SALT,grind it in, and lay in the sun. I've taken out some pretty impossible stains this way. to be sure, grease stains are the hardest for me to get out too! I look forward to see which you try and works for you, so I'll be watching who you pick for best answer, I'd like to know the best way myself!!

You may have to wash this several times to get the grease stain out but dont give up. Use a good detergent and spray a stain remover on it before washing.

Soak in cold water add a small amount of dish washing liquid to the stain. Rub the liquid in with your finger tips , now pop into your washing machine on a 40ºc normal wash.

Try Zout. It's fairly new, in the same aisle as Shout and Spray and Wash.
