Boys' names play a large part in determining their character. Hard consonants project a more commanding voice, getting more respect, which leads to positive reinforcement, thus creating more of a masculine boy. Soft consonants give boys softer voices and therefere they become less masculine. Names of two to three letters are too easy to spell and the kids won't become as bright. The same goes for longer names that give rise to three letter nicknames.

I like the names Jacob, Caleb, and Andrew. They are biblical and have hard consonants and two syllables. Therefore, smart, athletic, and named after a Bible hero.

N Names
Nicholas is good, Ned is not. Norman might be a good middle name, like Robert Norman Buck.

Review His Initials
In the above example if his last name was Doe, it would be RND (round) but if Norman was his first name he would be NRD (nerd).

I've always liked Misha‧el (I plan to name my son that if I ever have one). He was one of the three hebrew boys who refused to bow down to the tower in tbe bible book of Daniel. I think it's strong and you can't get more unique than that.
