Well I was in a relationship, and we've not just stayed friends, but best friends! We've now been friends longer than we were together, and I think honestly it was because we both realised that we were much better as friends than lovers! I think that maybe we were never in love with each other, or at least not the way we thought we were, but more that the idea of being in love with each other was comfortable, if that makes sense!
Anyway, to each his own as they say, everyone will have different thoughts and reasons I'm sure.
Hope this helps!

Its usually, & id go as far to say maybe as much as 99% of the time because 1 of them still wants the other, i would say they are generally not still in love with each other -its usually 1 sided, otherwise they'd be together again wouldnt they?
thats just my experience.
My advice be alert not alarmed lol.

It really depends on the couple. Sometimes it's that they were never really in love, or maybe because they are still actually in love but couldn't seem to work it out, maybe it's because their schedules didn't work well together or any number of reasons.

depends on the two people. what kind of relationship did they have? it's possible that they fell out of love with each other, but still thought of the other person as a friend. it's very rare, but it's possible

It's different in all cases but I don't see why two people who were involved can't just be friends after the passion is gone. Why do you find it confusing that people can still just be friends?

⥠It's different for every relationship.... for one relationship it could be because they are still in love with each other and in another relationship it could be that they loved & were comfortable with each other but were never in love.... This quote always makes me wanna cry because neither of those situations is a great thing...

And you don't think that two mature adults can't be lovers and can't? Newsflash you are sooooooooooooo wrong. I have two gay friends that used to be partners and they are still friends with each other, so that just goes to prove that you don't really know what you are talking about.

It means they still have a friendly relationship. It is possible and happens many times that you realize that you weren't really in love but you still can be friends.

I agree, usually one feels platonic, the others still holding on for more!

It means that they are mature and do not have to be vindictive after the passion runs out
