A big name like this, in this situation, is this another barings bank?? (however you spell it!!)

I am sooo glad I don't have a mortgage with them. We were considering it at one point.

I would be panicking too if I were a customer.

*edit* sam j - you may be right. We bought in '99 when houses are so cheap. We want to move, but prices are just ridiculous. We have looked into it, but I reckon a crash is about to happen, and we'd end up in negative equity. No thanks! I'll stick where we are for now.

On the News this morning it said they would be helped out financially and the government said don't panic! Right OK then! NOT

So glad i don't have savings or mortgages with them!

What difference does having a mortgage with them make? It's not loike they can suddenly say "we need all our money today" it just gets shifted to a new lender if they go belly up. They won't go belly up anyway, BoE is lending them money at reduced interest.

dunno but apparently you can't get onto their website. People are panicking and I cant say I blame them - who would believe this Government when they say not to panic!!
