When I was young I used to go brown in the sun, but I think that was just cos I was outside all the time. As an adult who spends most of the time working 12-13 hour shifts 3-4 days a week, I spend little time outside, and because I know I burn easily now, I don't go out in the heat of the day unless well protected, cos when I burn it's crimson all the way.
Bye the bye, as a kid our swim team one year had a blue & white stripe costume, it was the summer of '76 and by the end of it, all the girls looked liked they'd fallen asleep behind bars, literally we were more stripey than zebra's.
