I heard that the postman *always* rings twice....I am not sure that I believe that, though.

If I am REALLY lucky twice, but usually only once and if I am not quick enough to answer the door, he is gone in a flash! I am then left with going to the 'local' [10 miles away] office to collect my parcel. Great postal service we have here.

He doesn't ring, he bangs on the door. Shakes me up every time - it sounds like a police knock, especially when you're half asleep.

Never - I haven't got a doorbell! Even on the occasions when he knocks, he's usually flitted off before I even get chance to come to the door.
