They already have. Look at the way they treat a 4 star General. Hillary insinuated he was a liar. They have undermined the troops, and will do anything decietful to make their party look good, and to show the Conservatives in a bad light. But as Lincoln once said, "You cannot strenghten the weak by weakening the strong."

The congress can vote to stop funding if they wish. But that is all they can do. They have no mandate to decide how to conduct military operations. That is the Commander-in-Chief's role, exclusively. They know this and the Democrats are only playing to their most radical anti-war supporters.
Even with Vietnam, they did not have the nerve to cut off funding until the President had already begun withdrawing the troops as part of a cease fire agreement with North Vietnam. Nixon had already gotten them to agree to end hostilities with the South and withdraw with the understanding that we would quickly redeploy our troops back in if they violated the agreement. The Democrats in Congress took advantage of the situation to cut the funding so redeployment became impossible. You know the results.
So you see, even with a war like Vietnam that went on for over a decade and involved draftees and tens of thousands of casualties, the Democrats did not dare to cut the funding with the troops in the field. It is the quickest way to end the Democratic party and they know that.
So, no, they will not actually cut the funding. They will posture and make empty promises to their base and continue to propose useless resolutions but they won't cut their own political throats.

If you truly have concern for America in mind, then read the following article. I fully admit that some of it SEEMS anti-Bush. However, it's a fascinating look inside the head of our President. Skip to about halfway down the page, and you will get insight personally from a man who was close to Bush, and responsible for gathering intel on the Iraq military before we invaded.
These are facts that everyone should know. I'm not saying that these are ALL the facts. But a true American is not afraid to look at the truth.

People forget that congress has a job to do too. They don't work for the president. Constitutionally they are a co equal branch of government, with the executive, and have a say whenever we go to war. If as a body they determine that the president has taken us in the wrong direction, they are obligated to act.

I'm sorry, I don't know who you're talking about when you say "Our Great President." I'm not aware of a great president currently in office.
The troops have nothing to do with the policy. The troops don't choose to make wars, they just follow orders from the top. The one getting people killed is the one who sent them there to begin with, and the one who shows no interest in bringing them back any time soon. The same one who tells us that the funds to properly fund the VA don't exist, and the same one who doesn't care how long a tour of duty is. Your "great" President Bush, the draft dodger. Or have you forgotten?

1. No I do not. 2. Our pResident is not great. 3. This war belongs to Bush and the GOP. They are the ones getting people killed. You have had over 6 years in power and what have you accomplished? 4. Its time to hold Bush , his administrations, and his neocon enablers accountable for Buish's war.

will Bush be willing to leave troops on battlefield with no supplies and bullets for real and out of spite when congress cuts funds for his war? or will he do the right thing and bring them home?
I think he is crazy enough to leave them twisting in the wind with no ammo and surrounded by hostiles and then say the democrats did it. This is how little I thik of the twit.
